Eric Carle Tissue Paper

Standard

kindergarten will be learning all about illustrators this year.  We began the year by looking at Eric Carle’s illustrations and talking about what collage is.  They also learned that Eric paints designs on tissue paper and then cuts those up and uses them to make the collages for his illustrations.  They spent their first day in the art room this year painting designs on tissue paper.  They tried really hard to not paint a picture because they know we are going to cut these paintings up to use for collages.  Here are some of their painted tissue papers.  I’ll update later with pictures of their finish collages when they make them.
